Neo-Metro was founded in 1998 after an article was written in the Wall Street Journal about a residence in San Diego, CA, that installed prison toilets in their bathroom. From then on, demand for the classic and industrial look of stainless steel residential fixtures grew. The look of stainless steel toilets and stainless steel sinks in the home became known as “prison chic” and quickly grew in popularity.
